New Horizons Alternate Program
Overview of Curriculum
Courses
of Study: Language Arts Literacy,
Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, and Related Arts. Students are taught a modified
curriculum using the textbooks/materials of their respective grade level,
adhering to district guidelines and New Jersey Core Curriculum Content
Standards. We also employ the 2nd Step Violence Prevention in our
classroom. Our program focuses on addressing the academic, social, emotional
and behavioral needs of your child.

Assignments
- Homework is assigned on a daily basis, and should be written
in your child's agenda book. On some occasions, due to the nature of the
program incentives, your child will be excused from homework on a particular
day.
